Celebrating Italian American Heritage and Beauty
Miss US ITALIA Pageant to be held in Rhode Island in February 2025.
Across the United States, there are over 18 million individuals of Italian descent. According to the National Italian American Foundation, Rhode Island boasted a population of 199,077 Italian Americans in 2024, making it home to one of the highest per capita population of Italian Americans in the nation. Celebrated for its vibrant Italian American community, is became the birthplace of the competition, initially launched as Miss RI ITALIA in 2014. Over a few years, the pageant expanded and began accepting participants from throughout the country in 2017.
THE SEARCH IS ON for girls and women who take pride in their Italian American heritage and want to represent the Miss US Italia Pageant from their respective states. Eligible candidates include females aged 6 and older, regardless of marital status, who have Italian American roots through birth or ancestry (including parents, grandparents, etc.). Contestants compete and titleholders are selected in six age groups: 6-11, 12-15, 16-18, 19-26, 27-39, and 40 and up.
(All age categories are limited. To be guaranteed a spot it is our suggestion to register early)
During the competition, judges evaluate contestants on multiple criteria, such as stage presence, personality, elegance, and interview skills, specifically focusing interview questions on the contestant's own Italian American traditions. Those who emerge as winners of the six categories are awarded a stunning crown and banner, gift certificates, jewelry, and various other prizes, including a $100 cash award. Side awards such as photogenic and congeniality are also presented at the event.
For one year the titleholders will represent their Italian American heritage by attending events and making appearances at parades and fundraisers, as well as participating in philanthropic and community activities in their home state and optionally in Rhode Island. Activities may include organizing clothing drives, participating in fundraising walks, attending parades, or engaging in elementary school reading programs. The primary goal is to raise awareness for worthy organizations of their choice while positively representing Italian Americans.
In the spirit of charity, Miss US Italia will also present the Isabella Corcelli Community Involvement Award. This award honors Isabella Dora Corcelli, one of the earliest Miss RI State Titleholders. A beautiful soul who tragically lost her fight against cancer in February 2016 at the age of 21. It will be presented to an outgoing titleholder who has demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteering and supporting charities during her reign. The recipient will receive an award as well as a cash prize of $250.
Contestant applications will be accepted until January 1, 2025, with a registration fee of $150. A $25 registration fee discount is offered to the first 12 contestants registered by November 30, 2024.
